CoreWeave rents accelerator compute — a cloud built specifically for model training.
Unlike general-purpose clouds, the company builds infrastructure for one task only: dense accelerator clusters with fast interconnect. That allows supplying capacity more cheaply and quickly than large operators, for whom such configurations are only part of a catalogue.
The model is capital-intensive in the extreme: accelerators are bought with debt and repaid through long contracts with a few large customers. Hence a double risk — customer concentration and debt service against fast-obsolescing equipment. It is a bet that demand for compute outlasts the depreciation schedule. The company pays no dividend.
