Privacy policy

This policy describes how personal data is processed on TradeAlmanac. It follows Russian Federal Law 152-FZ of 27 July 2006 on personal data, which governs the service. Analytics pages can be read without registering: an account is needed only for personal sections — portfolios, watchlists and alerts.

What data we process

• Account data: your email address and a one-way hash of your password.
• Data you enter yourself: portfolios and their transactions, watchlists, alert rules, interface settings, forum and community posts.
• Technical request data: IP address, browser and device type, page address, date and time — these reach the server logs and are needed to run and protect the site.
• Anonymised visit statistics collected by web analytics counters through cookies.

We do not collect special categories of data (health, beliefs, religion) or biometrics, we do not ask for identity documents, and we have no access to your brokerage accounts: portfolio transactions are entered by hand or imported from a file, and the service places no trades.

Why we do it

• Running your account — Registration, sign-in, access recovery, and storing your portfolios, watchlists and settings.
• Notifications — Sending what you subscribed to: triggered alerts, digests, and emails about material changes to the service.
• Running and protecting the site — Detecting failures, rate limiting, and defending against automated and malicious requests.
• Understanding how the site is read — Anonymised traffic statistics: which materials are useful and where a reader fails to find an answer.
• Billing — Handling paid subscriptions, issuing documents, and working with the payment provider.

On what legal basis

• Performance of our contract with you — the terms of use and the offer (152-FZ, article 6(1)(5)): everything without which an account and its sections cannot work.
• Your consent (152-FZ, article 6(1)(1)): optional mailings, push notifications and session recording. Consent is given by an action — when you subscribe — and withdrawn just as easily.
• Our legitimate interest (152-FZ, article 6(1)(7)): counting traffic in aggregate, protecting the site from overload and abuse, and keeping technical logs. The counters run from the first page load and count requests, not people; you can opt out at any time, after which they stop loading.
• Legal obligations (152-FZ, article 6(1)(2)): keeping billing records for the periods the law requires.

How long we keep it

• Account data — For as long as the account exists. Deleting the account deletes it together with portfolios, watchlists and alert rules.
• Sign-in session — 14 days from the last sign-in, after which you sign in again.
• Account activity log — 90 days.
• Sent emails and their delivery status — 90 days.
• Partner link clicks — 180 days.
• Subscription usage records — 400 days — reconciliation of billing requires it.
• Client-side app telemetry — 30 days.
• Your cookie decision — One year, then we ask again. It is stored in your browser and is not sent to us.

Counters and who receives data

We do not sell personal data. Part of the processing is done by third-party services, each for its own purposes and under its own rules; the list below is complete.

• Yandex Metrica — Traffic statistics. Runs from the first page load; if you opt out of analytics cookies, it does not load.
• Google Analytics 4 — Traffic statistics. Runs from the first page load; if you opt out of analytics cookies, it does not load.
• LiveInternet — Independent audience counter. Runs from the first page load; if you opt out of analytics cookies, it does not load.
• Hosting provider — Runs the service. Processes technical request logs and has no access to the contents of your account.
• Payment provider — Takes subscription payments. Card details are entered on its side and never reach us — we receive only the outcome of the payment.

Cookies: which and why

Essential cookies keep the site working: they remember your sign-in and your consent decision. They cannot be switched off — without them there is no service. Analytics cookies are set by the counters: they run from the first page load, and if you opt out of analytics they stop loading. Details are on the Cookies page; you can change your decision there, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Your rights and how to use them

• Find out what data of yours we process and obtain a copy of it.
• Correct inaccurate data — some of it you can edit directly in your account settings.
• Delete your account together with everything in it.
• Opt out of analytics cookies and withdraw consent to mailings and push notifications — at any time and without giving a reason.
• Complain to Roskomnadzor or go to court if you believe we have broken the law.

You opt out of the counters on the Cookies page: the decision changes with one click and takes effect immediately. Emails are unsubscribed from by the link in the email itself, push notifications in your notification settings. Anything else goes through the Contacts page; we reply within 30 days, as the law requires.

Where data is processed

The service databases are hosted on servers in Russia. The analytics counters run on their owners' side: Yandex Metrica and LiveInternet in Russia, Google Analytics outside it. Aggregate visit statistics are sent there; opting out of analytics cookies stops that transfer too.

Changes to this policy

The current version is always on this page, with the update date at the top. If the set of cookie categories changes, we ask for consent again rather than stretching the old one over something new.
