nVent Electric makes enclosures, fastening systems and cooling for electrical equipment.
The products are invisible but obligatory: any electrical equipment has to be put in something, fastened to something, protected from something and cooled somehow. It costs little relative to the equipment itself, so the customer chooses on reliability and availability rather than price.
The fast-growing part is liquid cooling for server racks: chips used to train models produce so much heat that air can no longer remove it, and the industry is switching to water. That changes the scale of a line that used to be modest. Risks: the industrial cycle, steel and copper prices, competition from large electrical manufacturers. The company pays a dividend.
