Bullion coin
A coin of precious metal whose price is set by the metal rather than by the rarity of the issue.
How to read the number
Unlike a commemorative coin it is minted in large numbers, so the premium over metal is smaller and the buy-back more predictable.
When the metric lies
A bank sells at one premium and buys back at another, and the distance between those two prices is wider than on the exchange market for the metal.
