Fund rules
A fund's founding document: what it may buy, what fees and surcharges it takes, on what timetable it accepts and settles orders, and on what conditions it is wound up.
How to read the number
Three places are worth reading: the limits by asset type, the full list of expenses, and the settlement period for a redemption order. Together they define what owning the unit will feel like.
When the metric lies
A fund's name commits it to nothing: the permitted composition is set by this document and is usually wider than the name suggests. Amendments are made through a set procedure, and a unitholder's silence counts as agreement.
