How to read the number
The drawing means one thing: inside the interval the price went appreciably lower and came back by the close. Neither the reason for the fall nor the reason for the return is visible in it.
When the metric lies
An identically shaped candle at the end of a rise carries a different name and the opposite reading. The meaning therefore comes from the context, not from the shape.
