Tick chart
A chart on which a new point appears after every trade rather than after a fixed span of time.
How to read the number
The horizontal axis is marked out in events rather than minutes: points crowd together in busy hours and stretch apart in quiet ones.
When the metric lies
It does not compare directly with a time chart: equal widths hold unequal stretches of time, and indicators computed on it mean something else.
