Where to find a Russian company's accounts — Investing basics
Содержание · 4

Step 1. Identify the issuer

What trades is a security; what publishes accounts is a legal entity. A group may have several, and the holding company's report is not the same as the operating subsidiary's.

Step 2. Decide which standard you need

For multiples and business valuation — consolidated IFRS. For checking the base for a dividend — the parent's Russian accounts.

Step 3. Find the document

Official disclosure is required by law: the primary source with its publication date lives there. The issuer's website is more convenient but sometimes lags. The TradeAlmanac statements section holds already parsed and standardised figures — with the source of every line stated.

Чистая прибыль691 000 000

Step 4. Check the period

An annual report, a half-year report and an interim quarterly one are different documents. A quarterly figure cannot be compared with an annual one: the difference will look like a collapse of the business.
