About the coin
Convex grew as a layer on top of the Curve exchange: it collects users' CRV, locks it long-term in its own name, and returns boosted yield plus the voting power that would otherwise require a multi-year lockup. What is locked never comes back, so the only exit is selling the derivative token on the market. That put the protocol at the centre of the "Curve wars" — the contest over where liquidity incentives flow. CVX carries the vote in that allocation.
