How we calculate the numbers

Every figure in this section is named together with its formula and source. When a figure is missing, the section shows its absence rather than a zero.

This section is informational. Data comes from public sources and is not investment advice. Digital assets are volatile and may lose value.

Price

Formula: The <SYMBOL>USDT pair price on the named exchange, converted to USD

Source: Binance public market data; CoinGecko for assets without an exchange pair

We do not build an aggregated cross-exchange price: an aggregate needs its own methodology and outlier protection, and a half-built aggregate lies worse than the honest price of one named venue.

Price change

Formula: Against a rolling 24 hours, not against a close

Source: Binance / CoinGecko

Crypto has no trading sessions and no previous close.

Market capitalisation

Formula: price × circulating supply

Source: Price from the exchange, supply from CoinGecko

Market cap is not observed, it is computed. Supply updates less often than the price and carries its own date, shown next to the figure.

Fully diluted valuation (FDV)

Formula: price × maximum supply; where no maximum is declared, price × total issued

Source: CoinGecko

Many coins have no maximum supply at all. The valuation is then computed from the total issued, and the basis is named right under the figure; where both are unknown, the valuation is not shown at all.

Freshness verdict

Formula: from the age of the source data, not from the response code

Source:

Each venue has its own threshold: on an exchange the price moves in seconds, at an aggregator in hours. Cryptocurrencies trade around the clock, so missing fresh data means the source failed, not that the market is closed.

What enters the section

Formula: top 2500 by market cap, or turnover of $1 000 000 or more over 24 hours

Source: CoinGecko

In addition: a known circulating supply, an age of at least 14 days, and the source must not mark the asset inactive.

Dominance

Formula: the asset's market cap / the sum of market caps in this section

Source: our own calculation

The denominator is OUR universe, not the world market. The difference is small but real, and one must not be passed off as the other: a share of an incomplete set is always slightly higher than a share of the whole.

Fear and greed index

Formula: a weighted sum of five components on a 0–100 scale: momentum 0.25, volatility 0.25, breadth 0.20, dominance shift 0.15, stablecoin share shift 0.15

Source: our own calculation from our own data

Computed ONLY when at least three components are available; with fewer there is no value at all — an empty field, not 50. When not all five take part, the answer is marked incomplete and names what is missing. Volatility is compared with its own yearly level, not an external threshold: a "normal" spread in crypto is four times an equity one. Dominance and the stablecoin share measure the CHANGE over 30 days, not the level.

Altcoin season index

Formula: the share of the section's top 100 that beat bitcoin over 90 days

Source: our own calculation

Stablecoins and wrapped assets are excluded: comparing a dollar-pegged token with bitcoin is meaningless by construction, and in the denominator they would depress the index purely through list composition. The 75 and 25 thresholds follow the common methodology so the number stays comparable.

Market breadth

Formula: risers / fallers over a rolling 24 hours

Source: our own calculation from quotes

Only assets with a known change enter the denominator. The source rounds the percentage to one decimal, so "unchanged" means a move smaller than 0.05 %, not complete stillness — for stablecoins that is normal.
