For rightsholders

How rights to the platform's materials are arranged and how to file a complaint.

Updated: 25 August 2026

TradeAlmanac respects the rights of third parties and reviews every rightsholder notice. Below is whose rights the four layers of material on the platform touch, and how to file a notice that can be acted on rather than clarified for a week.

Whose material you see on the platform

  • Market and reference dataquotes, candles, issue parameters and corporate events belong to the trading venues and the disclosing parties. We take them from open interfaces, store and display them, and claim no rights in them.
  • Our calculations and textsmetrics, rankings, analyses, journal materials and company profiles are produced by the platform team. The rights in them are ours.
  • Logos and trade marksused solely to identify a security in a list and on its card. The rights belong to their owners; display implies neither partnership nor endorsement.
  • User contentforum posts, investment ideas and comments are published by their authors. The author is responsible for the content.

Using our material

Quotation to the extent justified by the purpose is permitted with attribution to TradeAlmanac and a direct link to the source page. Bulk automated copying of data, resale and building a derivative service on it are not permitted — the terms for machine access are set out in the API terms of use.

Filing a notice

Send the notice to hello@tradealmanac.com with the subject “Rightsholder notice”. For it to be actionable the letter must contain every item below; if anything is missing we will ask for it and the period starts again.

  • Details of the complainant: name, address and a contact email address.
  • A description of the work whose rights are infringed and the basis of those rights — the contract, certificate or other document.
  • The exact addresses of the pages where the material is published. A link to a section does not identify the material.
  • A statement that the publication is not authorised by the rightsholder, by law or by contract.
  • Consent to processing the personal data required to review the notice.
  • A signature, handwritten or electronic.

What happens next

A notice is reviewed within 24 hours of receipt — the period is set by article 15.7 of the Russian federal law “On information, information technologies and the protection of information”. If the infringement is confirmed, access to the material is restricted. Where the parties' explanations are needed, access may be restricted for the duration of the dispute: that is a pause, not a finding.

The author of the material is notified of the takedown and may file a counter-notice substantiating the right to publish. If the counter-notice is well founded, access is restored and the complainant is informed.

Rights in source data

Some sources — exchanges, regulators, aggregators — do not publish terms of use in the open. We take such data, show it on the site with a link to the source and do not resell it through the machine interface. The basis for showing each source is named in Data sources, together with what a paid licence would unlock where one exists.

If a data rightsholder contacts us, the order is this: we confirm the right, request the terms of a display licence and within ten days either buy it or remove the data from the site. There is no intermediate state: ten days is the period within which we either pay or stop showing it.

Rightsholders in other jurisdictions

Notices under the rules of other jurisdictions, including DMCA notices, are accepted at the same address and reviewed in the same way. The required details are identical: without the address of the specific page and proof of rights a notice cannot be acted on.

Errors in the data

If the matter is not rights but an inaccurate figure or date, the corrections procedure is faster: it is set out in the Editorial policy, and the sources are listed in Data sources.
