Cookie policy

A cookie is a small file a site stores in the browser so that it can recognise it on the next request. This policy is an annex to the Privacy policy and sets out exactly which files TradeAlmanac sets, why and for how long.

Three categories, and what you decide

Necessary files are always set: without them account sign-in and the remembered language do not work. Analytics and advertising files require your decision, which the banner at the bottom of the page asks for once. Refusing is as easy as agreeing: both buttons sit side by side and are the same size.

Your answer is stored in the ta_consent file together with a version number for the set of categories. If the set changes, the version changes and the question is asked again — we may not silently extend an old consent to a new category.

Necessary

Set by the site itself, they require no consent and collect no statistics. They cannot be switched off in the site settings — you can delete them in the browser, but then you will have to sign in and choose a language again.

• moex_session — the sign-in session. Set after authentication, cleared on sign-out.
• ta_consent — your answer about cookies and the version of the category set. Lifetime: one year.
• ta_lang — the chosen edition language, so it is not asked on every page. Lifetime: one year.
• ta_market — the chosen market (Russia, US, world, crypto). Lifetime: one year.
• ta_market_prompt — a marker that the offer to switch market has already been shown. Lifetime: one year.
• ta_edition — the chosen edition of the site. Lifetime: one year.
• ta_edition_prompt — a marker that the edition strip has already been shown. Lifetime: one year.
• ta_region — the region derived from request headers, used to suggest a suitable edition. Lifetime: one year.

Analytics

These help us understand which materials are read and where a journey breaks. We use external counters — Yandex Metrica, Google Analytics and LiveInternet; they set their own files and collect anonymised visit data.

Accuracy matters here, so plainly: the basic anonymised visit count runs from the first page load and does not wait for your answer. Choose «Necessary only» and the counters stop loading. Separate consent governs behavioural recording — Yandex Metrica's Webvisor, which stores cursor movement and scrolling: it is not enabled until you agree.

• _ym_uid, _ym_d, _ym_isad, _ym_visorc — Yandex Metrica: an anonymised browser identifier, the first-visit date and service markers.
• _ga, _ga_*, _gid — Google Analytics: an anonymised browser and session identifier.
• LiveInternet — a traffic counter, used when a statistics project is connected.

Advertising

Advertising blocks are shown only after you press “Accept all”. While there is no answer, or the answer is a refusal, ad slots are not rendered at all — the decision is taken on the server before the page is sent, so third-party code never reaches the browser.

How to change your decision

• Delete the ta_consent file in your browser settings — the banner will ask again on your next visit.
• Restrict or block cookies for this site in your browser settings.
• Use private browsing: the files are removed when the window is closed.

Refusing analytics and advertising files does not limit access to the data: quotes, dividends, financial statements and every public page work the same whatever you answer.

Retention and sharing

Our own files live no longer than a year; the session file lasts until you sign out. Retention for the external counters and the advertising network is set by their owners. We do not sell data to third parties; how data is processed is set out in the Privacy policy, and questions are taken through Contacts.
