About the coin
Agreement is reached not by a conventional chain of blocks but by the hashgraph protocol: nodes exchange not only transactions but also records of who passed them along and when. From that gossip history each node independently derives the ordering and timestamps — the voting happens mathematically, with no extra messages, and the ordering is final at once, with no wait for confirmations.
The network is governed by a council of large organisations across industries and countries: each runs a node and takes part in decisions about the protocol. That is a deliberate trade-off away from an open validator set in favour of predictability and accountable participants. Supply is fixed at fifty billion coins and is never added to.
Fees are denominated in dollar terms and stay low and stable. Beyond smart contracts the network offers ready-made services — token issuance and an attested ordering of messages — which matter most for enterprise record-keeping and identifier use cases.
The node set is limited to the council's membership, which makes the network fast and predictable but not open to an arbitrary participant — a price the project pays knowingly.
