About the coin
Applications here live entirely on chain: code runs inside containers called canisters, and pages are served to the browser straight from the network, without conventional hosting. Computation is paid for by the developer rather than the visitor — a reverse gas model that sets Internet Computer apart from most smart-contract platforms. Built by the DFINITY foundation, it uses chain-key cryptography so nodes sign responses with one key and contracts reach other chains without bridges. A canister holds persistent memory alongside its code, so the network stores the data too.
