About the coin
Mining from a phone without burning electricity is where Pi Network started in 2019: the app asked users to confirm activity daily and accumulate a balance long before the network opened. Founded by Stanford researchers, it spent years in a closed phase during which coins could not leave the application, and unlocking balances required passing identity verification. It now presents itself as a smart-contract platform whose community was assembled through a mobile app rather than through exchanges.
