How to use the TradeAlmanac terminal

The terminal is not a separate product but a way of assembling on one screen what would otherwise be spread across five sections.
Workspace and widgets
The screen is built from widgets: chart, order book, news feed, dividends, financial statements, watchlist. A layout can be saved and returned to later.
The chart
It supports indicators and comparing several securities on one scale. Indicator settings are saved to a template, so they need not be set again on every open.
What is linked to what
Selecting a security in one widget is picked up by the others: chart, news and statements switch together. That is the point of a terminal — not switching by hand.
When a terminal is unnecessary
If you look at one security once a month, the instrument card is enough. A terminal pays for itself when there are many securities and they have to be watched regularly.
