Rocket Lab launches small rockets and builds components for other people's satellites — the second most frequent private launch operator in the United States.
A light rocket puts a small spacecraft where and when the customer needs it, rather than as a secondary payload on someone else's launch. That market differs from heavy lifters: the price per launch is modest but the cadence is high, and the customer pays for schedule and orbital precision.
The second and larger part by revenue is manufacturing: solar arrays, control systems and satellite platforms supplied to others. It provides steady income between launches. The central story is development of a medium-class rocket whose debut should move the company into a different weight class; until then it is unprofitable and pays no dividend.
