Altcoin season
Whether money is flowing into bitcoin or into everything else
An altseason is a stretch when coins other than bitcoin rise faster than it does. The gauge counts how many of the top hundred coins have outperformed bitcoin over the past 90 days: the higher the share, the broader the rally. A high reading says money is spreading across the market; a low one, that it is concentrated in bitcoin. This observes the state of the market rather than signalling a trade.

Stablecoins and wrapped tokens are excluded: comparing them with bitcoin is meaningless — they are pegged to the dollar and to the price of the underlying coin.
