About the coin
A perpetual futures exchange that built its own blockchain rather than renting someone else's. The order book, matching and position accounting happen inside the protocol instead of on an operator's server: every order and every liquidation is a network operation visible to all participants, and therefore verifiable without trusting the venue.
Consensus runs on proof of stake, and alongside the trading core sits an EVM-compatible environment that lets third-party applications reach the same book. Liquidity is supplied by a communal vault into which anyone can deposit, sharing the market maker's profit and loss with the protocol. The HYPE token is the network's settlement unit and its governance instrument, and part of the fees collected is directed into buying it back on the market.
One distinguishing trait is distribution: a substantial share of supply went to users of the platform rather than being placed with investors in earlier private rounds.
The wager is that a derivatives market can run fully on chain: normally the book and the risk engine stay with a centralised operator and only the outcomes reach a blockchain.
