Public Service Enterprise Group combines New Jersey networks with a nuclear fleet — a rare pairing of tariff and carbon-free output.
The base is regulated electricity and gas delivery across most of the state: the commission approves the tariff, and profit grows with investment in network upgrades and gas main replacement. That part supplies stability and covers the dividend, and its growth can be projected years ahead from the capital plan.
The second part is nuclear plants selling into the market. Their value has changed: round-the-clock emission-free output became a scarce commodity for data centres, and federal support removed the risk of units closing for economic reasons. Risks: wholesale power prices, reactor condition and the state regulator's tariff decisions. The company pays a dividend.
