Credo makes active cables and connectivity chips for inside the data centre — an adjacent market to Astera Labs.
The products are cables with embedded electronics that restore the signal, plus chips for optical and copper links. The task is the same: connect hundreds of accelerators so that latency and loss do not consume the benefit of their number. Demand comes from a few cloud operators building clusters.
The economics turn on whether a large customer selects this solution for its platform: winning one programme yields revenue for years, losing zeroes the line. That concentration makes the stock volatile regardless of the industry's overall health. Revenue sits with a handful of customers, so one programme slipping shows in the quarterly result immediately. The company pays no dividend.
