GOOGAlphabet Inc. - Class C Capital Stock

GOOG is the same Alphabet stock as GOOGL but carries NO vote; the business is identical, only shareholder rights differ.

The company has three share classes. Class A (GOOGL) carries one vote per share, class C (GOOG) carries none, and class B does not trade at all — it belongs to the founders and carries ten votes each. That structure keeps control with the founders regardless of who owns the capital, which is why the voting class has historically traded slightly above the non-voting one.

The difference does not affect a shareholder's cash flow: dividends and buybacks apply to both classes alike and the economic stake is the same. For an investor who does not vote, the choice comes down to entry price and liquidity rather than asset quality.

The business itself is advertising: search, YouTube and the partner network supply the overwhelming share of revenue, Google Cloud grows faster and recently turned profitable, and bets such as Waymo sit in a separate segment and still consume cash. The dominant risk is US antitrust litigation over search and advertising technology, which can reach the structure of the business itself.
