APi Group installs and services fire safety systems — and lives on mandatory inspections.
Sprinklers, alarms and extinguishers in any building must be inspected on a schedule set by codes and by the insurer. That is not the owner's choice but a requirement, so service revenue recurs regardless of the cycle and carries a higher margin than installation.
The company deliberately raises the share of service relative to installation: installation is cyclical and tied to construction, service is not. Growth comes from buying local contractors together with their contracts. Risks: the construction cycle, the availability of qualified fitters and acquisition prices. The company pays no dividend.
