JFrog stores and distributes built software packages — a binary warehouse between development and deployment.
Modern software is assembled from hundreds of third-party libraries, and each must be stored somewhere, scanned for vulnerabilities and fed into the build on demand. The company provides that warehouse and with it a record of exactly what went into a given release — which became mandatory after high-profile supply chain attacks.
The product is embedded in the build pipeline and is therefore rarely changed: replacing it means rewriting every release script. It is sold by subscription and grows with the number of developers and the volume stored. Risks: competition from free tools and from cloud platforms' built-in services. The company pays no dividend.
