Graco makes pumps and sprayers for paint, adhesive and lubricant — equipment that moves viscous material.
A professional painter buys a sprayer once every few years and chooses on reliability: a breakdown on site costs a crew a day's earnings. The brand matters more than price here, and the dealer network and parts availability lock the choice in for a long time.
The industrial half is dispensing adhesive and sealant on a production line, where the equipment is built into the line and replacing it requires a shutdown. Both halves yield recurring income from parts and service. Risks: the construction and industrial cycles, component costs and distributor inventories. The dividend has been raised for many consecutive years.
