Logarithmic scale

A price axis on which equal distances correspond to equal relative changes rather than equal absolute ones.

How to read the number

Over a long history it is the fairer axis: a doubling occupies the same height at the beginning of the series as at the end.

When the metric lies

Lines drawn on different axes arrive at different points. When comparing two charts, check the scale before the shape.
