An airdrop to Solana users at the end of 2022 — when the ecosystem was at its worst point after the FTX collapse — lifted Bonk out of the ordinary run of meme issues. The dog theme, free distribution, and integration into dozens of applications made it a visible part of that ecosystem, and the community regularly burns part of the supply, as long-lived memes tend to. The token has no economic function: demand rests on attention, community, and trading activity.
