Tezos is ranked #133 by market capitalisation, at 281.79M $. Market capitalisation is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with both — a coin can climb the ranking without its price rising, simply by issuing more.

Over the last twelve months the price of XTZ fell by 53.6 %. That is the change of the quote itself and says nothing about what comes next: crypto drawdowns of tens of percent within a year are ordinary, not exceptional.

Tezos is the native coin of its own blockchain: transaction fees in that network are paid in it, and its issuance is set by the protocol rather than by a contract on someone else's chain.
